DECUS IN LABORE

2016

This embroidery project was featured on the cover of The Carton's Spring-Summer issue N.14.

The idea driving the project evolved around planting a seed, metaphorically speaking, telling stories of regional makers and the micro ecosystem they are part of and are dependant on.

The work features Vulcan, the Roman God of fire and smithery, forging metal with a blacksmith's hammer, along with the issue's title Decus In Labore which translates to, there is dignity in labour.
